Retrofit Upon Resale Requirement
If you are selling your Burbank home or business property, effective for all new sales after December 13, 2022, both the seller and the buyer of the property will need to certify that the property meets or exceeds the following water use standards:
Required Water Use Standard
Not to exceed 1.28 gallons per flush
Not to exceed 1.8 gallons per minute
Kitchen and Bathroom Faucet Aerators
Default flow rate is not to exceed 1.8 gallons per minute, with a temporary increase of up to 2.2 gallons per minute allowed.
Public or Common-Area Bathroom Faucets
Not to exceed 0.5 gallons per minute
Not to exceed 0.5 gallons per flush
Not to exceed 0.125 gallons per flush
Compliance is the responsibility of the seller/transferor. The process by which the property seller certifies compliance with this Ordinance is through the Retrofit Upon Resale Certificate of Compliance. Click on the link below to download this form. There are no fees associated with filing this Certificate. Please be aware that compliance with this Ordinance is a condition of escrow; sale of the property is contingent upon completing and filing this Certificate of Compliance.
