How You Can Help

Would you like to help Burbank families in need of financial assistance? There are several ways you can help!

Make a Single Donation

You can make a single donation by cash, credit card, or check payment. Cash, check, and credit card payments can be made to a cashier in the BWP Lobby at 164 W. Magnolia Blvd, Burbank CA 91502.

Check payments can also be mailed to to BWP. Write your check to “Project Share” and mail it to Burbank Water and Power, P.O. Box 631, Burbank, CA 91503-0631, Attn: Project Share.

Donate to Project Share Monthly

To set up an amount that you would like to donate monthly, log in to your BWP online account to sign up for monthly donations.

You can also download our form and send it in with your next utility bill payment.

Participate in the Bill Round Up Program

Authorize us to round up your current utility services bill to the nearest dollar amount by using our Bill Round-Up Donation Form. For example, if your bill is $85.75, you will be billed $86.00. The extra $0.25 will be donated to Project Share.

Add a Check Donation When You Drop Off Your Utility Bill Payment at a Dropbox

If you use one of our payment dropboxes throughout Burbank to pay your utility bill, you can also include a check donation for Project Share with your payment. Please write your check out to “Project Share” and include it with your bill payment.

Need More Time to Pay the Balance on Your BWP Bill?

You can request a Pay Plan if you believe you will be unable to pay your BWP bill within the standard 21-day payment period. A Pay Plan is an agreement with BWP to make payments on the amount you owe over an extended timeframe. You can set up a Pay Plan in the billing section of your online account

 

Thank You for Your Generosity!

Your donation will show up automatically each month as a separate line item. Project Share donations may be tax deductible under section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code. Please consult with your tax advisor to ensure you qualify for the deduction. On behalf of the entire Burbank community—thank you for your generosity!

How to Apply for Project Share

Our Project Share program provides payment assistance of up to $250 in the form of a one-time bill credit to income-qualified customers once per calendar year. Interested customers may apply at the Home Again LA (HALA), with the required supporting documentation. The application and supporting documentation may also be mailed to HALA directly at 1304 W. Burbank Blvd., Burbank, CA 91506. Applicants maybe required to attend in-person to verify income and sign the application.

Please provide the completed application and physical copies of the following documents for all members living in your household:

  • Account holder’s ID card / Driver’s License or other government-issued identification
  • A copy of a valid ID for all members living in the household (Birth certificates needed for children living in household)
  • A copy of your most recent BWP bill showing your account number and past due amount.
  • Tax Transcript. Previous transcripts available at: IRS.gov/individuals/get-transcript
  • In some cases, you may be able to certify as low income with only one item from the list above AND verification of income assistance with: Burbank Housing Authority (BHA) Section 8 program, CalWORKs, CalFresh, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Refugee Assistance Program, Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Programs (LIHEAP).

Project Share is available on a first come first serve basis. Funds are limited and the program is funded by generous community donations. Because funding is limited, program availability or terms may change at any time.
