What to Expect
Residents may see Dumarc Corporation crews working near Reservoirs 4 and 5 during construction. The working hours will be Monday-Friday, from 7 am to 6 pm, excluding city holidays.
There will be no water service interruptions as part of this effort. Water will remain available to our community while this work is being performed.
Once the reservoir stair replacements are completed, the reservoirs will be refilled with water and put back into service.
BWP is replacing the stairs at Water Reservoirs 4 and 5 as a safety improvement. The new stairs will allow crews to safely access the reservoirs for routine inspections and maintenance.
The existing stairs have reached the end of their service life and are no longer considered safe for crews to use. Replacing them ensures the reservoirs remain safe, reliable, and accessible for BWP staff to perform routine inspections and maintenance.
No. This project is not expected to cause any water service interruptions for residents or businesses.
No. There will be no impact on water quality as a result of this work.
Yes. Water will remain available for everyday use, including adequate system pressure for firefighting and wildfire response, throughout the project. BWP has planned this work to ensure the water system continues to operate safely and reliably while these reservoirs are temporarily out of service.
As water was used by the community from Reservoirs 4 and 5, BWP did not refill them, so water levels could gradually lower to a safe level for construction. Once the stair replacements are complete, the reservoirs will be refilled and returned to normal operation.
