Chromium Testing

The City Council requested that total chromium and hexavalent chromium test results be obtained from various public buildings in Burbank. Samples are collected on a bi-monthly basis. A California state certified laboratory analyzes the samples and the results are posted within the links below.

The California Department of Public Health maximum contaminant level (MCL) for total chromium is 50 parts per billion (ppb). Total chromium is the sum of trivalent chromium and hexavalent chromium. There is no MCL for hexavalent chromium at this time.

Please see the links on this site pertaining to chromium and hexavalent chromium for more information.
