Recycled Water

What We’re Doing

First, BWP is rapidly expanding the recycled water system throughout Burbank as outlined in the 2007 Master Plan Stages and Phases. When completed, estimated in the year 2013, the use of recycled water will top 1 billion gallons per year.

Second, the city now has a policy to require the use of recycled water for targeted large irrigated landscaped areas and other industrial uses. This will rapidly increase the use of recycled water helping make water availability in Burbank more sustainable.

Recycled Water Conversion Assistance Program

The Recycled Water Conversion Assistance Program (RWCAP) offers a rebate to assist Burbank customers converting to Recycled Water. The RWCAP reimburses customers for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health permit and inspection fee. Funds are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
