Your Energy Cost Calculator

A Publication of Burbank Water and Power

Burbank's electric rates are tiered.  The cost of your electricity depends on how much of it you use.  So take a few minutes to calculate the current average cost of your electricity before determining the cost to run a particular appliance.

Instructions

Determine the current AVERAGE cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for your electricity usage by looking at the "Billing Detail" section of your Municipal Services Bill.  Divide the Electric Service SUBTOTAL by the Current USAGE (KWH) and round off to the closest cent.

Find the closest corresponding cost per kWh in the column at the top of the chart under COST OF ELECTRICITY.

Read the operating cost in cents in the line across from the appliance.
