Starting on April 22 – Earth Day – 25,000 randomly selected Burbank households will begin receiving Home Energy Reports. These short Reports will be mailed to residents every other month, for a total of six Reports throughout the year. Each Report shows the resident how they are doing compared to a group of 100 “neighbors.” The neighbor group is comprised of households in the area which are the same approximate square footage. Showing how a household compares to similar homes in Burbank provides the resident with valuable information about their overall energy usage. The Reports also include tips on saving energy, including tips that require no investment at all. The program also includes a website that the participating households can go to for more information on their energy usage and energy-saving tips, to request paperless Reports, and to establish a savings goal that will be tracked online for them.
